Posted on October 22nd, 2018 by Christy J. Wilson in Pharma R&D
From October 29-30, London will be the site of two important events for the pharma and biotech industries, the 2nd Medicinal Chemistry Summit: Europe and the 2nd Global Pharma R&D Informatics & AI Congress. Presented by Global Engage, the conferences will be co-located at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow, opening up the opportunity for industry professionals to sample what each has to offer.
Following a very successful debut, the 2nd Medicinal Chemistry Summit returns with a program featuring 30+ presentations on subjects ranging from protein degradation to the role of AI in drug discovery. Expert speakers will include Ingo Hartung of Bayer AG, Ian Churcher of BenevolentAI and Dr. Rosalind Sankey, Senior Product Manager of Medicinal Chemistry at Elsevier Life Science Solutions. Dr. Sankey will be discussing how to help medicinal chemists identify new and high-quality opportunities during lead identification and optimization.
The Global Pharma R&D Informatics & AI Congress is also enjoying its sophomore year, with a mission to explore advancements in artificial intelligence, data analytics and other informatics tools for drug discovery. The event, which brings together an array of experts, will showcase three key topics:
*The Future of AI and Machine Learning in Pharma
*Complex Data Analytics and Method Development
*Data Storage, Management and Integration Strategies
Networking opportunities, an exhibition of solution providers displaying their software and technologies, and roundtable discussions on subjects such as data security and the potential of blockchain in pharma are all on the itinerary for the event. There will be speakers from Roche, GSK, Vertex Pharmaceuticals and other firms, along with Elsevier’s own text and data analytics wizard Dr. Jabe Wilson, who will give a talk on how AI ready data is helping to deliver predictive analytics in drug discovery.
